The border is where the craft concentrates. Zardozi, gold-thread needlework tracing to the Mughal imperial courts, runs in a continuous leaf motif along the saree and pallu, anchored with gota patti appliqué and a scatter of zari dots across the body.

A saree lives or dies on how it falls, and silk organza falls clean. The fabric holds enough body to keep the pallu structured over the shoulder, light enough that the pleats move freely. Aari-worked dots run across the full six yards, so the texture reads even where the border isn’t visible. Aari work, chain-stitch embroidery worked with a hooked needle long associated with Gujarat’s embroidery workshops, fills the body first.
